Restructuring

Bankruptcy and restructuring laterals, recruited nationwide.

Restructuring hiring rises and falls with the credit cycle, so timing matters as much as experience.

The Search

Side, stage, and timing.

Lateral Lock asks which side you usually sit on (debtor, creditor, committee, or distressed investor), whether your work is in court or out of court, and how much of each case you run.

  • Choosing the targets.Debtor-side chapter 11 work, creditor or committee work, and out-of-court liability management are staffed as different practices. We look for restructuring groups whose side and mix match yours, and we talk with you about timing given current market conditions.
  • What we learn about each firm.We research the platform, work mix, clients, offices, and trajectory of each restructuring group on the list.
  • Your case history. We order the resume the way a restructuring group reads a case list: side, in court or out of court, then how much of the matter you ran. You approve every resume edit before the resume goes out. A short cover letter leads with what that firm prioritizes and goes out with the submission unless you ask to see it first.
  • Confidential, then negotiated. The search stays confidential. We prepare you for each interview and handle the negotiation with you.
