M&A and private equity laterals, recruited nationwide.

Deal lawyers move for better deals. Sponsor work, strategic combinations, and middle-market sales each lead to a different next seat.

The Search

Starting from the deal sheet.

Before any firm comes up, Lateral Lock goes through your recent transactions with you: who you represented, how the deal was structured, which documents you drafted, and how much of the negotiation you ran. That list shapes everything after.

  • Where your deals point.A sponsor-side associate who has drafted buyout documents is a different record from a strategic associate whose deals are public-company mergers, and from a lawyer who wants to lead smaller sales. We pin that down and build the firm list around it.
  • Homework on every firm. For each group we research the platform, the work mix between private equity and strategic matters, the kinds of clients it serves, the offices involved, and the trajectory of the practice, then share what we find with you.
  • Your experience, in deal terms. We present the resume accurately, with each deal in the order an M&A group cares about: who you represented, the structure, the documents, and how much of the negotiation you ran. You approve every resume edit before the resume goes out. The cover letter leads with what that firm screens for and goes out with the submission unless you ask to see it first.
  • Confidential through the offer.Nothing reaches a firm until you authorize it. We prepare you for each interview and handle the negotiation on compensation, title, and the deal flow you were promised.
