Investigations

White collar and investigations laterals, recruited nationwide.

Investigations work tends to be sensitive, and so are the searches. Discretion comes first.

The Search

A careful start.

Lateral Lock talks through the matters you can describe: internal investigations, government-facing defense, compliance work, and any prior government service. We take extra care with confidentiality from the first call.

  • Choosing groups.Internal investigations and government-facing defense, whether before the DOJ, the SEC, or another enforcement agency, are screened on different records. We look for firms where that investigations work is a core practice and your experience fits.
  • Vetting each firm.We review how each investigations practice is built and what kind of matters it publicly handles before it ever hears your name.
  • Accurate, discreet materials. We shape the resume so the matters you can describe stay accurate, leave privileged detail out, and follow the order an investigations group reads: internal or government-facing, then your role. You approve every resume edit before the resume goes out. A short cover letter leads with what that firm prioritizes and goes out with the submission unless you ask to see it first.
  • Interviews and offer. Each introduction requires your authorization. We prepare the interviews with you and negotiate the offer.

Talk through the practice before you talk to a firm.

A conversation is not a submission. Your current firm is not told that you called.
